The multidisciplinary and comprehensive Pediatric Medical Service at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center serves the needs of children.
The Department provides state-of-the-art, exclusive medical services in a range of fields: pediatric emergency medicine, pediatric cardiology and pediatric pulmonary medicine and more. The Department has 31 inpatient beds.
In addition to providing patients with immediate medical solutions, the Pediatrics Department carries out extensive studies in pediatric medicine. The hospital itself is affiliated with the Technion’s Bruce Rappaport Faculty of Medicine in Haifa, and trains pediatric medical residents, interns, medical students and nursing students.
Doctors’ Rounds
Starting at 9:30 each morning, the doctors and nurses make their rounds, discuss your child’s condition and make decisions about their continued care. You are welcome to stay in the room when they come and ask about the things you have on your mind. We realize that you, as parents, know your child better than anyone, and that is why it is important that you provide us with information about how your child feels, his/her condition and behavior.
After rounds are over, between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m., you will be able to receive explanations from the senior department staff about your child’s condition and treatment plan.
If you would like a consultation with a senior physician outside these hours, you can schedule one with the Department Secretary, who is there until 4:00 p.m.
The Nursing Staff
The nursing staff is in the department 24 hours a day, and the shifts change every 8 hours. A single nurse will care for your child during the morning shift.
When the nurses change shifts at the following times: 7:00 a.m., 2:30 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., we ask that you and your child remain in the room.
Children’s Meals
We do our best to provide tasty, varied and nutritious meals, suited to each child’s age, medical condition and personal taste.
