New U.S Unit Director: Dr. Alon Shrim

Dr. Alon Shrim

Dr. Alon Shrim is a gynecologist and maternal-fetal medicine specialist. He is a graduate of Tel Aviv University‘s Sackler School of Medicine with a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at University of Toronto in Canada. He completed his internship and residency in gynecology at the Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel Hashomer, where he held the position of senior consultant in the Fetal Unit through 2008. Between 2008 and 2011, Dr. Shrim served as a physician and held a teaching post at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, where he was also appointed a senior lecturer.

Last October, Dr. Shrim was appointed to the Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics at Hillel Yaffe Medical Center. 

The Ultrasound Unit now provides comprehensive services in antenatal ultrasound diagnosis, gynecological ultrasound, diagnosis of gynecological diseases, monitoring of ovulation for women undergoing fertility treatment and more.

Prof. Motti Helek, Director of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, said, “In view of the tremendous experience Dr. Shrim brings with him, I am positive that as the new Unit Director he will be a valuable addition to our Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics and to our hospital.”
